Arctic Silver Epoxy (Thermal Adhesive)

Just like its sibling Arctic Silver II, the thermal adhesive is composed of 99.8% pure micronized silver. Even though the adhesive contains the ingredients required to create the chemical reaction when the activator mixes with the adhesive component, it still has an excellent thermal conductivity rating of 7.8 W/m°K. In comparison, Arctic Silver II has a rating of 8.8 W/m°K, LocTite 383 thermal adhesive has a rating of 0.60 W/m°K, and the cheap packet of white thermal 'grease' included with your Blue Orb has a rating of 2.73 W/m°K. As you can see, Arctic Silver's thermal adhesive (AS-TA) is pretty darn close to the real stuff, and way better than Zinc-based thermal 'grease' or Aluminum-based thermal epoxy.


Arctic Silver Adhesive comes in two 3.5 gram tubes to be mixed in a 1:1 mixture for "permanent" or diluted with Silver Thermal Paste in a 50/50 ratio. Here is how the Arctic Silver guys list the specs:

Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive was formulated to conduct heat, not electricity.

Even though Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive is specifically engineered for high electrical resistance, it should be keep away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. The cured adhesive is slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridged two close-proximity electrical paths.

A set of Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive consists of two tubes containing a total of 7 grams of adhesive (3.5 grams of Part A and 3.5 grams of Part B) and a plastic reusable mixing wand.
